text-decoration: none;">๒๕๒๑]</del>] มิได้มีบทบัญญัติที่ว่าด้วยข้อบังคับเกี่ยวกับจรรยาบรรณของสมาชิกแต่ประการใด เพียงแต่บัญญัติไว้กว้างๆ ด้วยข้อความที่ว่า “ในกรณีที่สมาชิกวุฒิสภาหรือสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรผู้ใดกระทำการอันเป็นการเสื่อมเสียแก่เกียรติศักดิ์ของการเป็นสมาชิกวุฒิสภาหรือสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎร สมาชิกวุฒิสภาหรือสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎร แล้วแต่กรณี จำนวนไม่น้อยกว่าหนึ่งในสี่ของจำนวนสมาชิกทั้งหมดของแต่ละสภา มี[[สิทธิเข้าชื่อ]]ต่อประธานแห่งสภาที่ตนเป็นสมาชิก เพื่อให้วุฒิสภาหรือสภาผู้แทนราษฎรวินิจฉัยให้สมาชิกผู้นั้นพ้นจากสมาชิกภาพได้” ต่อมาได้มีการประกาศใช้[[รัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย พุทธศักราช 2540]] มิได้มีบทบัญญัติว่าด้วยข้อบังคับเกี่ยวกับจรรยาบรรณของสมาชิกไว้โดยเฉพาะ แต่ได้บัญญัติเกี่ยวกับอำนาจของ[[สภาผู้แทนราษฎร]]และ[[วุฒิสภา]]ในการตราประมวลจริยธรรมของสมาชิกและ[[กรรมาธิการ]] โดยอาศัยอำนาจตามความในรัฐธรรมนูญดังกล่าวให้จัดทำ[[มาตรฐานทางคุณธรรมและจริยธรรม]]ของผู้ดำรงตำแหน่งทางการเมือง ข้าราชการและพนักงานหรือลูกจ้างอื่นของรัฐ เพื่อป้องกันการทุจริตและประพฤติมิชอบ3 และต่อมา[[รัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย พุทธศักราช 2550]] ในมาตรา 134 มาตรา 279 มาตรา 280และมาตรา 304 และข้อ 182 ของ[[ข้อบังคับการประชุมสภาผู้แทนราษฎร พ.ศ. 2551]] กำหนดให้ดำเนินการจัดทำ[[ประมวลจริยธรรมของสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรและกรรมาธิการ]] จึงได้กำหนดให้มีข้อบังคับว่าด้วยประมวลจริยธรรมของสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรและกรรมาธิการ พ.ศ. 25534  มาใช้บังคับกับสมาชิก โดยกำหนดให้สมาชิกต้องมีอุดมคติ ต้องจงรักภักดีต่อชาติ ศาสนาและ[[พระมหากษัตริย์]] ทั้งสนับสนุนการปกครองระบอบ[[ประชาธิปไตย]]ตามรัฐธรรมนูญ อันมีพระมหากษัตริย์ทรงเป็นประมุข ต้องเป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีในการปฏิบัติตามและรักษาไว้ซึ่งรัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ต้องมีอุดมการณ์ในการทำงานเพื่อประเทศชาติและประชาชนอย่างเต็มความสามารถด้วยความรับผิดชอบ ยึดถือประโยชน์ของประเทศชาติและประชาชนเป็นสิ่งสูงสุดเหนือกว่าประโยชน์ส่วนตนและต้องวางตัวเป็นกลางในทางการเมือง</div></td><td class="diff-marker" data-marker="+"></td><td style="color: #202122;
